“Sustainable Hot Water”

In 2011, a residential Solar Thermal System was installed in a residential condominium complex in Mata de São João, BA using 20 Flat Planel Solar collectors. The system, which was designed by our certified installer partner, , which comprised of 2x 1000 liter water tank boilers. The collector installation included Roof-mounted Fixed racking system and Energy Management Control. The solar system was constructed to provide domestic hot water for showers and washing.

The solar system replaces the use of the high consumption electric heated shower units. At the current cost of electricity, the residential household will save from $1,500 – $2,000 per year on electricity bills. The solar system will deliver an estimated 50% of the annual heating load. The solar system is instrumented with a Btu meter, and measured performance to date has been excellent.
